Charcuterie & Grazing Table Catering for Events in Southern California

Thyme Catering creates charcuterie boards and grazing tables for corporate mixers, receptions and celebrations across Orange County, CA, Los Angeles County and San Diego County. They’re generous and good-looking, and they’re built for guests who want to eat while they mingle.

What Is a Grazing Table?

A grazing table is a long, abundant spread of food arranged directly along a table, so guests serve themselves throughout the event instead of lining up at set times. Ours are built from cheeses, crackers, breads, charcuterie, fresh fruit, vegetables and dips, arranged in trays and boards along the length of the table. It works as food and as a centerpiece at the same time.

Charcuterie Boards vs. Grazing Tables

  • Charcuterie boards are individual boards or platters. They suit smaller groups, conference rooms, or several stations around a larger space.
  • Grazing tables cover an entire table and become the focal point of the room. They suit receptions and mixers where guests circulate.
  • Compared with a buffet, a grazing table has no serving line or fixed service times, and it holds up well during a long networking event. Many clients pair a grazing table with sliders and finger food for a more filling menu.

What’s on Our Boards

Our tables typically include sliced and wedge cheeses, crackers and pretzel crisps, sliced baguette and bread, cured meats, grapes and fresh berries, vegetable platters (celery, carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes), nuts, jams and dips such as hummus. Have guests with dietary needs? Mention them in your quote request and we’ll talk through the options.

Perfect for Corporate Mixers & Networking Events

At a networking mixer, guests want to keep a drink in one hand and a conversation going. A grazing table lets them help themselves without breaking away for a seated meal. It also looks impressive when clients and partners walk in. Add bar service and staff and the event runs itself. See more on corporate event catering.

Setup, Styling & Service

We arrive before your guests to build and style the table on site, with décor to match the occasion. Need tables, linens or serving ware? Add event rentals to the same order.

How Grazing Tables Are Priced

Grazing table pricing depends mainly on:
– Guest count, which sets the size of the table
– Menu, meaning the mix of cheeses, meats, fruit and add-ons
– Service: drop-and-style vs. attended service, plus staffing and rentals
– Location, date and event length
